Aston Martin 1968 DB6 Volante

Our Aston Martin DB6 Volante was supplied new to Mrs J Rubeck in 1968 of Surry who enjoyed and cherished the car up until 1992. In that time she changed the colour from metallic silver to primrose yellow. The 2nd owner Mr J F Praktijk of Amsterdam owned the vehicle from 92 to 98 where the car was still serviced and cared for by Aston Martin specialist Demond Smail ever year of ownership. During that time the car had an extensive refurbishment which included a bare metal respray to Chichester blue, fresh black leather and dark blue carpet. The 3rd owner was Mr R Martin of Berwick from 1998 who then sold the vehicle in 2002 to Mr J Butt of Surrey who gave the reasonability of maintaining the car to Newland Motors before selling the vehicle to Mr P Everest of Somerset who intrusted Marksdanes ltd who carried out various works in 2004.

It was in 2006 we purchased the vehicle and had Aston Engineering carry out various maintenance works. The car was in good useable condition but we wanted something special, so we started the programme of restoring the vehicle in 2009 with Aston Martin Works Service. Over a 3 year period the car was restored by Works Service in the condition it is in today, replacing the hood, re chroming the bright works, replacing any damaged panels or filler with new manufactured panels, changing the exterior colour from Chichester blue to a period Rolls Royce silver and managing to secure the last of the roll of the period leather at Works Service, re-trimming it in deep red leather and black carpet.

Having not been happy with the way the setup of the engine, we decided to take the car to RS Williams who fully tuned the car, also replacing shock absorbers, springs along with other various maintenance upgrades and replacements parts.

Having covered less than 2000 miles since the start of the cars restoration once completed, the car has annually been maintained by RSW. Making this DB6 one of the best!
